It is a quiet and sparsely populated resort that is perfect for families with children and lovers of peace and quiet. Orachovac used to be a quiet fishing village until someone appreciated the local conditions for recreation.
Orahovac in Montenegro is a small village on the shore of the Kotor Bay, ten minutes drive from Kotor and close to the picturesque Perast. It is completely tourist: the population of the village does not reach hundreds of residents in off-season.
Charm of Orahovac
The village is located in the south, where sunny days are quite common, and the beach is sunny from morning to evening. There are mountains covered with oak groves and mountain grenades around Orahovac. The streets of the city are narrow, zigzagged and still have a medieval atmosphere. Transparent fresh streams flow down into the sea from the mountain slopes, making the water near the village almost turquoise and completely transparent.
Beach
The beach stretches for almost a kilometer, but its width is only 20 meters. Oaks grow right by the water, and it is cold in the shade of their branches even on the hottest days. The beach is partly pebbly and partly concreted. Orahovac Beach is one of the top ten beaches in Montenegro.
Cafes and restaurants
There are three bars that are open only during the tourist season near the beach. In the village you can find a cafe where traditional Montenegrin and various fish dishes are cooked. The hotel “AmforaHotel” has a fitness center, bar and restaurant with opened and closed areas. If you need necessities as well as food, fresh fruits and vegetables, you can go to any of the three small shops.
Sights
There is an extraordinary church of St. George above the village, on a rock. You can also go to the ruins of ancient stone residential buildings.
The locals will be pleased to show you the ancient oak, which is already 400 years old.
You can go hiking, swimming, fishing and explore the surrounding countryside, and when you get bored, take a regular bus ride to Kotor and Perast, which are rich for sights.
